Hanging Gardens is a series of six sets of paintings, in which each image is comprised of multiple canvases, and one video projection, presented in an installation that conveys sensations of floating and immersion. Based on her impressions of nature and landscape in the city of Singapore, where a combination of luxuriant tropical trees and imposing architecture is displayed, the artist envisions an idealistic, man-made version of nature reminiscent of the mythological Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The artist further explores the parallels between the Hanging Gardens and a human being, which can also be seen as an efficient, well-planned organism divided from the outside world by the immune system.
